Present
the LCMS Health Ministries' program on severe mental illness:
-
One
out of every five families is coping with mental illness.
-
Medical
research indicates the brain can be broken.
-
Mental
illness is not a person's fault, it is more like diabetes of the
brain.
-
Families
do not cause mental illness, they react to it.
-
Learn
symptoms of bipolar disorder, panic/anxiety attacks, schizophrenia,
major depression, and obsessive compulsive disorder.
-
Learn
why medications work, side effects, and what can go wrong in the
brain.
-
Hear
about family and personal experience of coping with mental illness.
Stigma
forces people into silence when a loved one becomes ill. Please be
part of helping reach out in an educated way to these families and
people in our congregations.
To arrange a presentation for your LWML or congregation, contact Linda
Preus at 314-849-6125 or 9228 Lavant Drive, St. Louis, MO 63126 or lindapreus@hotmail.com. |
